What to Say on Video When You’re Stuck (Video Content Ideas for Coaches & Entrepreneurs)

Ever sit down to record a video, stare at the camera, and think… “I have no idea what to say”? You’re not alone. Even the most seasoned content creators (coaches, healers and entrepreneurs) have moments where inspiration just disappears and they just don’t have any video content ideas.

Now, ideally, you’d always have a video marketing strategy already mapped out. You’d know exactly what topics support your business goals and what your audience needs to hear from you. All you have to do is pull out your plan and pick the next topic.

But let’s be real—sometimes you don’t have a plan. Or maybe you do have a plan but you’re just not feeling it that day.

So what do you do when you need to make a video right now but your mind is blank?

Here’s my favorite shortcut for coming up with endless video content ideas.

The Shortcut to Finding Your Next Video Topic

Looking at data from your posts on LinkedIn can tell you which ones performed better.

Go to your social media. Scroll through your past posts (that weren’t videos) and find one that did really well.

Maybe it got lots of reach. Maybe it sparked a ton of comments. Better yet, go to the Insights on your social profile and look at the hard data.

Or, check your email newsletter. Look for an email that has a high open rate, strong replies, or engagement.

Why this works: You already know your audience found that topic interesting. Now, all you’re doing is turning proven content into a video format.

No need to reinvent the wheel. Take the post (or email), use it as your outline, hit record, and just start talking.

Boom. Video done.

But doesn’t being repetitive make people bored?

Absolutely not. There’s several reasons why not:

  • Not everyone will have seen the original post. Taking the original post and repurposing it gets your ideas in front of more people without you having to create 100% original content each time. Further content hack: you can also just repost previous posts exactly as is at a later date to reach more people. Recreating it in video just takes your repurposing up a notch.
  • People have different learning styles and prefer to get information in different formats. By recreating the content in video, you capture the attention of people who prefer video.
  • You reinforce your message. By repeating the same message you help viewers understand it better and remember it. Hearing something multiple times allows the brain to process the information more deeply, encode it into long-term memory, and increases the likelihood of recall later.
  • You build trust with your audience. You’ve heard you need consistency in your marketing, right? Well consistency doesn’t just mean posting on the same day each week. It also means having a consistent message. Repeating the same message tells your audience you have conviction in your ideas, you’re not just swayed by the latest fads. Furthermore, studies show that repeated exposure to an idea can make it more persuasive and likely to be accepted.
