How to Make Your Facebook/Instagram Feed Uniquely You

How to Make Your Facebook and Instagram Feed Uniquely You

Why does it matter if you make your feed uniquely you? If you’re using Facebook & Instagram to market yourself and your business you need to stand out from all the other people and businesses posting. And particularly you want to stand out from all the other people who do what you do, ie your competition.

How do you do that?

One: Have a Consistent Posting Strategy

Don’t just be posting a bunch of random content just because it’s “viral” or it’s what other people are posting. Have some topics or types of content that you post over and over again. I don’t mean constantly posting “buy from me” posts where you talk about your products and services and try to sell them. I mean educational or entertaining posts that relate to your brand.

How to Shoot Video Without a Tripod

One of the easiest ways to improve your videos is to use a tripod. It stabilizes the camera so the video isn’t jumping around. You can set up the shot so the background doesn’t distract from the subject. And you can focus on what to say without worrying about holding your arm steady.

But what if you don’t have a tripod? Does that mean you have to wait until you get one?

No!

Video on social media gets better reach and engagement than any other type of post. And viewers on platforms like Instagram, which are meant to be viewed on your phone, don’t expect perfect, polished video.

It’s better to start making videos right now with the tools you already have. Then you can plan to upgrade and get a tripod when you’re able.

In this video, I demonstrate three ways to shoot video without a tripod.

What Are Hashtags and Why Are They Important On Instagram?

Posted on November 11, 2019
by Andrea J. Stenberg

What are hashtags?

They started on Twitter and have spread to just about every social network. But it’s on Instagram where hashtags are most important.

Baseball fan? Search #bluejays to find posts about my beloved Toronto Blue Jays. Love knitting? Search #knittingmom or #knittingpatterns.

On Instagram hashtags are searchable. People search hashtags to find posts about topics they’re interested in.

People can follow hashtags on Instagram. When you follow a hashtag on Instagram periodically a post will pop up in your feed that is using the hashtag, even if you’re not following that account.

That’s one of the key reasons why hashtags are so important if you’re trying to grow on Instagram. It allows you to get discovered by new people; people who are interested in what you’re posting about.

You can use up to 30 hashtags in a post, ten in your Stories and in your IGTV description.

3 Keys to Using Hashtags

  1. Don’t use the same hashtags in every post. Mix them up – you’ll get better results.
  2. If you’re a smaller account, don’t use hashtags that have been used millions of times. You’ll disappear in the noise. Use hashtags that have been used between 1,000 and 100,000 times. If you show up at the top of the search page for the smaller hashtags you have a better chance of being seen by new people
  3. Spend time discovering what hashtags your customers are using. If you’re only getting comments from your competitors you’re using the wrong hashtags.

We are at a unique point in time when it comes to video marketing. Don’t believe me?

Here are 7 reasons why NOW is the time for you to get your business on video.

Video Makes You Money

7 Reasons Why Your Small Business Should Be On Instagram

Posted on July 10, 2018

Should your small business be on Instagram? I know you can’t be on every social platform. You have to actually find time to run your business.

In fact I always tell clients it’s better to get really good at one or two social platforms than to dabble in many.

That said, I think that most businesses should really consider making Instagram one of the social networks they use. Here’s why:

Get Your Small Business on Instagram So You Don’t Fall Behind

First of all, Instagram hit 1 billion users in June 2018.

In 2018 71% of U.S. businesses are on Instagram compared to almost 49% in 2016. That means if you’re not there, you’re falling behind. The good news is only 52% of small businesses are using Instagram. If you jump on now you can be one of the leaders. Read More→
